MXR & DUNLOP Pedals
HEADS UPSome companies are old school. Dunlop/MXR are just that. They do not want reviewers doing a review or demo of their gear. They want their paid for demonstrators only. Some reviewers will indeed try and use a pedal for what it is not designed for. True! but others will show real weaknesses that we all need to know. Another good thing is when you see a review criticizing these pedals it has weight since these guys had to buy that pedal and now have to dump it if it is crap.
It is damn annoying as some of the Dunlop, MXR and Way Huge are very good.
So true, I bought a crazy amount of Dunlop's stuff, others not, cause I was warned by the community.
ReplyDeleteSo is the blue Analog Chorus and its weak design/buffer darkens the sound when it's in the signal chain (not so the yellow stereo Chorus). Or other gear I bought (always new or B-Stock), some 2 times thinking it was damaged but it's just in the design.
I also could compared some pedals Minis vs. normal sized and found out the smaller ones lack soundwise a bit (not a matter in a band-contec). One candidat is the Mini Phase 90 compared to the actual Scripts. That difference is played alone huge.
Also: Dunlop/MXR isn't interested in reporting issues and there's nearly a support when it comes to the PCB and bad solderings you can spot / changed devices on the PCBs etc.
