OVERDRIVE- KMISE/SAPHUE US Dream ...does $16.00 USD buys you dreams?

KMISE/SAPHUE US DREAM
$16.00 USD
Kmise $22.00 US

Kmise is a distributor of entry level instrument and accessories.
In the West they focus on small Mom and Pop shops. They do make their own pedals and re-brand them for other makes like Musiclily and Saphue. One seller offers them without any brand name printed on the box. Saphue are sold much cheaper even though there is zero difference to the circuit and it's parts.
It has been labeled and painted to suggest you are buying a Suhr Riot clone.
The funny thing is that years ago cheap Chinese pedals were accused of being straight knock offs.
They weren't! but they found that the myth sold more pedals. lol So they simply make a pedal vaguely similar then use a similar paint job and a name that will make you think it is that pedal.
So ...is this a put down? No ...just listen to these pedals like any other and buy the ones that sound good.
So does this sound good ???
CONCLUSION
Well the demos are impressive. Be warned though ...exactly what you hear is what you get. If you want more highs, lows or mids then you hear on the demo ...forget it! I find 9 times out of 10 you can not EQ the pedal better than you hear. You also can not get any more gain or sustain out of the pedal that is usable. Either the OD will self oscillate or the tone will turn to crap. Also there can be artifacts ...tiny little noises that pop up out the background that at first are easily ignored but later drive you nuts. I still own the Joyo version the switch is toast it will not turn off so I do not use it and selling it is near pointless. The Shur has a nice grit that the Joyo doesn't have and the Kmise has a bit more. I like the Kmise a lot more.
....WTF at this price I ordered one.

  1. Paul woukd it be safe to assume that Kmise is just rebranded Mosky pedals? The Kmise stuff is a winner based on price for budget conscious folks.

On another note there is a new mini pedal on Amazon.com Sun June. OF and distoetion with a very interesting control layout.

Finally can we get your thoughts on the 3 new Flamma pedals? Looks like they covered the full lineuo.

  2. K-mise are original. They may not actually do the manufacture but as the factory is not called K-mise but Caline , Joyo, Mooer have their own factorys and are their own distributer. K-mise do their own design. The give away is usually when a pedal comes in it's own unique casing. K-mise, actually sell/distribute Saphue themselves. I do not know yet if they also distribute Musiclily or just sell them to another distributer.I can trace anything and do ...but once I reach an actual factory it gets tough when no one speaks English.lol Actually if they do speak English I get back some really nice letters :-)A lot of casings look the same but are usually drilled out in slightly different locations for the knobs etc. The Mooer are easy. You can switch out the guts very easily and even quickly into any one of the 20 different brands they make.
Mosky are made by Moogoo. Moogoo even make counterfeit pedals. I have their counterfeit OCD and the MAXON EQ.

  3. How do you think the US Dream variations compare with the DemonFX "Solo" pedal?
