FUZZ- MJM Guitar FX London Fuzz ... a Fuzz Face with a history

$180.00 USD
MJM GUITAR FXLONDON FUZZ
Ivor Arbiter took the Vox Fuzz that was made by Tone Bender a model 1.5 based on the Tone Bender  V1.5 model Fuzz circuit put it in it's famous mic stand enclose and the Fuzz Face was born. Hendrix scooped one etc.
Ivor teamed up with Dallas Music a wholesaler distributor to finance making and marketing the pedals. The new company became Dallas-Arbiter.  In 1966/67 Dallas move to the U.S. and that ended the Fuzz Face. In 1986 Dallas bought Crest Music in the UK to reissue the Fuzz. They made about 2000 units before they too were gone.  In 1993 Dunlop bought the brand and rights. Jim Dunlop started over from scratch. Collecting good specimens of all the different models and making them Stateside.
For a short time Crest was hired back to make the UK pedals and Dunlop the U.S. one. The problem was Crest had cleared out all they had and had to start from scratch using one particular Fuzz they had left. Thanx to fate it was a gem. Crest reproduced it with all the exact parts. In those days if a blue print gave the value of a part it did not specify what manufacture of those parts to use. Makers used whoever was the cheapest and could change brands monthly.
Crest did not when they made the Dunlop/Brit version. It soon got tagged the London version. MJM scooped one and makes their London version. They have done so for 12 years. Oddly by word of mouth because its a great Fuzz and $169.00 USD is very reasonable. A few other companies have also used this circuit and prices are as much as $1200.00 USD.
CONCLUSION
Tasteful graphics, excellent value, a big serving of the Cool Factor.
Hell it even lives up to it's rep for authentic sound.
