PIGTONIX STAR EATER FUZZ
$180.00 USD |
brought back the Supro amps and guitars. They also make and sell the Supro pedals. They also recently bought D'Angelico guitar company.
I have the mini Pigtronics Philosopher Tone Compressor. Andrian Belew played the big box version since it came out. It was the only comp other than the MXR Dyna Comp you could buy back then. It is an optic comp a really early shot at a the early studio compressors. It has a pre in it that gives it a germanium vibe. I have it and
a Keeley beside it but I use the 'pig' more often.
The layout gives you the usual level and gain. The sweep knob lets you boost anywhere across the entire range this voicing your pedal to taste. which can be activated with the contour footswitch. A rocker switch lets you push or scoop the frequency. Another rocker switch lets you
choose either silicon or germanium transistors.
CONCLUSION
You get a lot of usable features in a pedal where they did a great
job in laying down two great basic sounds to work with.
I could bitch about it's size but it is like having both a silicon
Fuzz and a totally different germanium Fuzz in one box.
