Who thought of this ?
It's the guts of a modulation unit from an 80's Roland Juno 60 synthesizer. It was an analog polyphonic synth when such a thing was cutting edge. The actual synth was a very modest affair so it was all the thick rich chorusing that sold it. It was used for 'pads' on countless recordings especially to sub for using real string players.
TC adapted the circuit for guitar. Not unlike the synth it has two fixed switches with both engaged you get a third sound.
The output jack will accept a stereo cable if you want to use it in stereo.
The bottom line is it is unsuspectingly cheap.
CONCLUSION
it is hard not to want one.
