OVERDRIVE- HOMEBREW ELECTRONICS Big D OD/distortion

 HOMEBREW ELECTRONICS BIG D. OD/DISTORTION
$250.00 USD

It has a thick chunky sound . HBE is about

making serious pedals at reasonable prices. They do certainly achieve this.
I will pay almost anything for the right pedal but some of my very, very best have been cheap. You get a choice of 5 clipping diodes for the voicing

Some makers are now giving you control over the the bias too. It is risky thing to do as you can trash the sound and if others hear your pedal they will think the company makes garbage pedals ...or some guys will go back complaining that they have a f--ked pedal!

A HEADS UP
I do not see much of this as a trend.
But! There are companies making awesome
pedals with a waiting  list that indeed do this.
It is meant for fine tuning the sound and/or removing noise.
If the pedal sounds perfect already ...don't touch it!!

Deep Trip makes the Hellbender and you can wait
3 months to get on the list and another 3 months to get one.
Trust me ...this pedal is worth waiting for!!!

NOW BACK TO OUR STORY
The 'bigger' knob pushes up some mids to fatten the sound.
The pedal is all about grit. I have a few and love them.
A true tube emulated OD will as a rule stick to all FET's though.
I have those too.
A lot of guys are 'purists so they will not want this pedal no matter what.
But check it out ...you get a lot of choice for the money.
One thing that it does have is balz and that alone can legitimately
put this on anyone's short list!

There is some debate to if the company is even running anymore?
BUT... there are a few used ones starting as low as $100.00 USD showing up.
Expect to pay $150.00 as some are even listed for $230.00?
