Barber have been around a long time. Their pedals have for the most part have been about light to medium OD's that focus in on the subtle content and richness of the harmonics. A big fan have been players that lean towards Fusion style playing.
I feel this is the very best of it's king. Rich and full unaggressive without being lifeless. A fine line
to walk as they could get too tame even wimpy.
The controls are the classic 3 volume, tone and gain. You have 2 switches one fattens the mids the other gives you a choice of harmonic content,

A pleasant change over the many light to medium gains with so-call transparent sound that is to often lifeless, colourless and weedy.

Not bad for pedal at a $150.00 USD.

Barber has just released another iteration of the Gain Changer. It has olive green paintwork.
