This Australian company wants you to replace your Klon, Tube Screamer and Bluesbreaker with a Toad ???

No it is not all 3 in a box but a totally new thing. Well ...sort of new, lol.

It does use symmetrical distortion which is what make a Tube Screamer sound like a Tube Screamer. That said it does have a toggle to switch to a Boss SD-1 asymmetrical distortion. The layout has Volume and Gain, then a Choke which is a lowpass filter to cut the highs. Pre Tone sweeps sweeps across the whole range which means it moves the mids at the input.

TADPOLE: an accessory you can buy. It offers 2 other chips ...Bright and Mid Scoop. You can replace the original for a totally re-voiced pedal.

            CONCLUSION __

The look is good and with its wedge shape enclosure we get some old 

world class. The dark green is to remind you it is not a Tube Screamer, lol.

As for what is now called a transparent OD it offers a lot of real choices 

with the Tadpole chips. Odds are most guys will pick one and stay with 

it so it does not eclipse other makers pedals, since one good sound 

is all you need.
