DRUNK BEAVER
Trainer TS-15
Is it an unusual choice for the Ukraine company? This is based off of an
old 15 watt solid state practice/studio amp made in Canada by Traynor.
This company started in the mid 60's in the back of a store the now huge
music store chain Long & McQuade. There is and has been a huge Ukraine community in Canada forever. I expect this connection ended up with
amps being brought back to the home land.
It is literally a dead on copy of the amps pre. It could not be a more
faithful clone. The Layout is Volume, Bass and Gain. It has a
switchable Low and Normal input. A toggle gives you a choice of normal
or bright cap input levels. Add to that it runs on 9v but with an internal
15v charge pump that gives it great amount of headroom.
CONCLUSION ___It has a very chunky & punchy, transparent sound. All very unusual for what was primarily sold as anentry level or practice amp. Who describes theirfirst amp as punchy? With just 2x8"speakers too!!!Even more unusual is a pre that can add a lot oflife to a clean sound. This could well be thecheapest but best unintended gourmet Dumblelike clean sound made.
