Yes it looks like a serious piece of military kit but is it as menacing as it looks, lol. Is it your Dad's BOSS HM-2 or an EVH-in-a-Box???

The sliders are effective looking with the military looking graphics. They look like switches to trigger drones or rockets.

The layout is Volume, Gain, Bass, Mids and Treble all on the sliders that represent the pedal's Amp-in-a-box side. They control its OD like basic sound. A knob is used for Presence and the other for the Boost. 

    CONCLUSION ___ 

It is quite simple meant to be an Amp-in-a-Box with a boost. I am impressed with the tube like sound of it's amp circuit. The Boost does not overwhelm it so we end up with a Fuzz. 

A good Fuzz could indeed replace it for half the coin but although you pay for it ...the pedals amp like quality makes a big difference.

For a very similar sound the Drunk Beaver's $90.00 USD 

Moon Metal can not be underestimated & has to be checked out. 

If you wish it had a bit more of that real tube amp like thing 

than the This Heavy Earth Flesh Rot with its dead on take of an 

Ampeg VH140 c ...is as heavy as this before you even push it 

into Boost. At $200.00 USD it too should not be ignored.
