KANTANA CLEAN BOOST
It was a simple idea discovered decades ago. A guitar signal is a weak thing and if the level is increased that signal can add a richer tone or more level or Gain out of the amp. It can act as a buffer and send the signal through a long cable or through pedals that make that journey to the amp further causing a loss of signal. Highs and lows are the first to go and without them the signal can sound thin and muddy. Many of the old boosts are still loved. They were designed audiophile free, lol. They used cheap parts that added a nano sprinkle or harsh highs and a bit of compression. I still go for that. You can get that sound from the V.1 Timmy by pulling back the gain and using it as a boost.
The Layout is a single Volume, but internally you get 2 dip switches one can toggle more gain another cuts highs.CONCLUSION __It adds very little and a dirt cheap MIC knock off will be as good in the real world. Or do what I do. I use a Caline Pure Sky. A perfect knock off of a V.1 Timmy.
