DIGITAL REVERB DR600
This is a take on a Boss Reverb. The layout is a switch with 6 voices. You get Spring Plate and Hall Gated, and Room Modulated. You also get basic Level, Tone and Time controls. It is a full 24 bit sound. It is an industry standard for sound that we can
all listen to and not feel the sound is in any way amateur. It has both stereo in and out.
CONCLUSION __
For the gigging player where reverb is just some modest icingon the music's cake it is more than enough. In short it is athome on a board. Oddly it is not a great bookcase pedal. They are made for making self indigent Star Wars soundsand 'lotsa' shoe gaze. The DR600 is like a Toyoto familycar. Not too exciting but nothing to complain about at all.

As for me I have the Tone City Tiny Spring. It is $55 but an exceptional takeon a Fender Accutronics tanks style of Verb. I use it as an always on and getanything more dramatic from my delays.
What do you think of Azor mini reverb?
ReplyDeleteThe Brown AP311 two knob AZOR is sold as a Spring Reverb. A good one is really stupidly hard to make. Reverb in nature is a thousand single delayed sounds bouncing of the surfaces in a room. A Spring is 2 delays made by going down 2 separate springs. A Plate is similar but a plate picks up the sound from the 4 sides of the plate. So if you have a rather weak Plate sound it can pass as a reasonable Spring without a complex algorithm and high end chips. I am sure the Azor is a Plate. It does in videos sound very pleasing but reverbs are all about refined detail. The best cheap Spring is the Tone City Tiny Spring. It really can pass as a Fender Accutronics if you do not push it It is $55.00 USD. But you can get the Azor for $25 on Amazon. The Black AP312 Azor is sold as a Plate. To me it sounds like a budget Plate with too much undetailed honky resonance. The labels hardly matter on these as they are faux by design. So if I were to get one I would get the Brown. It is free of artifacts. Verb is meant to be like a Frame on an oil painting. A good one helps you focus on the painting, not compete for your attention :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! the Azor sound quite good in videos. I think I will order the Tone city
