The pedal is pure simplicity. It uses JFETS for it's boost. FETS are  transistors that works like and sound very, very close to a tube.

The boost is dead clean so it simply adds punch, definition 

and a mild exaggeration of to your whole sound.

Billy Corgan uses this as on always on pedal for his cleans. 

The sound comes on even with the pedal set to zero. Even 

if you do not use pedals this can make a simple old school 

Fender amp sound like you spent the big bucks on a
