THAT SCREAMER Overdrive Pro 455B
Sooner or later we need a hammer in our tool box. If it is an old cast iron wood handle one from are grandad it could well do. The classic Tube Screamer ts808 is grandads hammer. If your sound does not cut, it can cut, if it needs a bit of punch, fullness or sustain it is up for the job. The FB takes the fist 3 versions of ts and lets you pick which one works best with your rig. All this but adding a bit more punch, clarity and warmth.
CONCLUSION ___
I have 10 guitars and 68 pedals on my board. My problem is not which ts is best but whichworks to fix a problem when the problemchanges on every tune by me teaming upa different guitar with anything andeverything on my board.
thefneprintYes others like JHS have done an all-in-a-Box. What this one has is that all 3 voices are a very dialed and polished version of each.
Add to that the odds are one of the 3 voices is highly likely to nail what you need. Are there great cheap ones... there are many!!!
But do not be surprised if you too need to try many before you hit the right one. In short this one is not cheap but the gamble
of at least as mentioned is one of the 3 voices doing your thing may be worth the gamble.
is the Caline green Mamba a good TS 808?
ReplyDeleteAll the Caline are adequate. I have the CP-75 Emerald Night. In a shoot out with the Ibanez TS9 it sounded identical. It has a toggle that switches it to a fat sound or a Keeley mod. It was $35.00 USD. Caline bring out a new one about every 2 or 3 years. I expect they are all much the same if not much more than a paint job and a name change.
