USdreamNEW FUZZ |
store that sells kits. It appears they simply get the kits
assembled. Printing on the circuit board simply says Fuzz
Factory. They make a lot of Fuzz pedals and most have
4 knobs so which one is a mystery. Since they all have a
BIAS control simply hard wiring the BIAS without a knob
is no big deal.
CONCLUSION ___The reviews from buyers are all positive.A few have opened the pedals and arepositive about the build. To no surprise there are not any videos.
That said the biggest kit maker in China
is Landtone and the pedal in the video
looks exactly like it & has identical OpAmps.
The video with the Landtone has a short
demo at the end. (13:00)
The pedal sounds damn good !!!

It sounds like a very good muff. unfortunately it Is hard to know which classic circuits are used for their overdrives or distortions. Same problem with Landtone…
ReplyDeleteYes
ReplyDelete...but a Fuzz is not a MIAB Overdrive that the wrong components and topography in a test beside the real amp is not even close. A Fuzz in over simplified terms turns the guitar signal into a square wave. A Tone Bender v.1 uses only 7 basic parts to do this. The germanium transistors in it have a rating on them that can be wrong by as much as 20%. The result is they can NEVER be mud free. But a bit of mud does not break the only commandment of Rock sound. That rule is "If it sounds killer it is killer".
The best violin on the planet is a Stradivarius. It has a shellac finish with a lot of sand in it. In short the sand distorts the sound in a cool way by making the sounds overtones complex. The sand also dampens the output level, lol.
This Fuzz is an OpAmp Fuzz. When Electro Harmonix quietly replaced the Big Muff with an OpAmp model, guys with old ones went nuts because they felt EH had both destroyed the sound and try to rip them off to make a cheaper Fuzz with more profit in it. So the the OpAmp Fuzz was discontinued and the silicon jobbie was brought back. Later players saw both as different but cool. My point is according to Big Muff 'cork sniffers' this pedal is NOT a Muff. LOL
OK to distill it down this Fuzz is vaguely similar enough to a Muff that it becomes a practical term to describe it in words.
as a Muff but it is simply an OpAmp Fuzz with a fixed EQ curve that boosts mids that real Muff can not. Nearly all the so-called gourmet silicon Fuzz pedals boost the mids. So in closing this Fuzz is a faux gourmet Big Muff for the price of a junk food restaurant meal.
So I will buy one and check it out and we will all know if it is Pro or if its Poop :-)
WTF it might turn out to be Best Fuzz Pedal of 2026, LOL
_____THANX.... for your comment. In spite of a this very enjoyable rant I too want to know and so do all the visitors that come here.
