THE GOOD NEWS

Summer is over and the all the companies have new product to sell us since many of us will be indoors most of the time. We got the Neural DSP Nano Cortex. The perfect Modeler. 

No one outside of the critics wants to program the damn things so know you afford one of two big boys highend units/sounds cheap.

LPD Pedal's Lawrence Petross is after 8 years of selling 99% from his home to Americans is selling his killer pedals to all of Europe via Thomann😇 

 

ALL ABOUT 'FAKE' 

I am 77 and over the years I would go to the movies every 5 to 10 years to see a SciFi film where even those that hated SciFi would go to see and hear a film that the latest tech made them feel that what they experienced look 100% real. It wasn't and 5 or 10 years later everyone was amused that what they saw in the past then looked totally fake. Over time anything 20 years old was laughable.

It is the same with Modelers. I often heard the latest and felt that because I  did not own one maybe my sound from a tube amp is embarrassing. 

Recently I found I can identify a real amp from a Modeler in seconds. In short.... 

ALL modelers sound fake. They are like a beautiful woman that has obviously

had so much plastic surgery as to not look human. Instead of being enticed I am repelled.

Phil died at home in his sleep. He had been dealing  

with prostate cancer and other issues since 2015.

JAKE E. LEE SHOT TODAY

He was taking his dog for a walk down a quiet street in Los Vegas early this morning 10/15/24 and got shot several times in a random street shooting. He is expected to recover. Talk about strange as his Friedman IR-J preamp was released today. WTF!!!

_I got so wrapped up in it I forgot to give you my first impressions.

Well, ...with a Strat going thru it you oddly get a  Dire Straits 

Sultans of Swing vibe!! In short the best clean/mild crunch on the planet

I tend to avoid jamming as it eats into getting tunes leared, techniques 

sharpened theory learned and applied. I just couldn't help it,lol 

 

DEMON FX Z-drive 

When I got the Vox it replaced this Z-drive as my go to for clean Strat PU's sounds. I was in fact blown away by the NUX. So I thought I should sell the Z-drive. I also thought it prudent to see if it was a better choice for any other pedal I was using. It could clone my Valeton OD10  but add a tad more lows, highs and definition so iy bumped my OD10.

The Z-drive is not a clone of a Zendrive. It is literally a part for exact part duplication. $30.00 USD!!!!  

...the Zendrive does the impossible.  

It exceeds its hype!! it 'is' a Dumble so just $30 

gets me off flipping pricy Dumble pedals trying 

to find what I already have, lol

I always wanted to be able to do drop tunings but not so often I wanted 

to pay the bucks for one. The hot one has always been the DigiTech.

It Arrived 

I checked it out on a tune I was playing in B and wanted the mid 8 in E. 

A second later I was playing in B but it was coming out in E without 

any synth vibe, just natural sounding.

DOLAMO D4 DISTORTION

It is technically a one size fits all very high gain Metal pedal. Probably 

by luck it does a very good take on the infamous Fortin NAMAS amp. 

A respectable 'Thrash' machine.

_I just had a chance to check it out doing a few tunes I thought it might improve on but it didn't. 

I did try it on a tune I have been frustrated to the point of wanting to drop the thing. I got a 

huge sound with definition and just the perfect cut in the highs.

I set it typical of many of my drives with the Volume at unity gain and my Gain and Tone at 2 o'clock.
