FLANGER- Caline CP-76 So What Flanger... full featured, good specs

Caline   CP-76 Flanger
SO WHAT
$35.00 USD
A company that has made a thousand pedals. Just 3 years back on
their site they had about 70 pedals. Some they have made for at
least 15 years. As a rule the ones made in the standard old
Hammond B type enclosures are best.
This is a full feature unit with a layout of Width, Speed,
Regeneration and Delay.
         CONCLUSION ___
This is the real deal. I am confident they are using the reissued Panasonic BBD chips. They not just have a good sound they are not too noisy.  Very few companies that offer a full line of pedals make a Flanger let alone a full featured model. They are hard to get right. Done right they are rich sounding but otherwise can sound like Star Wars on a bad day.

  1. I’ve got the Maxon Fl9 that is a great flanger.Do you think that this one could be useful?

  2. The Maxon is an excellent Flanger. It started life scouring over the MXR and borrowing its basics. At about that time the MXR came out Electro Harmonix came along using a totally different tech/topography. All the MIJ pedals pretty much borrowed from MXR. It was both popular and easier to get right or hot rod. The E-H sounds cool but it is bitch to get right. It has dropouts in the modulation sweep and it is a bit noisy no matter what you do unless you kill the highs or gate it. So my point is unless you want the different sound of an E-H then The Maxon is all you need. Both would be nice, lol

  3. So you think that the Caline is inspired by the MXR?

  4. Yes and no. The Timmy pedal started off as Tube Screamer when the fist 2 or 3 were sold to the guys friends. The guy kept modding it until one day friends of his friends wanted one. Then it got so the whole world wanted one. After that others copied the Timmy. But those guys did not start like he did with the back off of a Tube Screamer. In other words the Caline is a copy of a copy of a copy. But if MXR had not made theirs that whole chain would not have started.
