Flattley   PEDALS
The company is big on Fuzz pedals.
Most are massive Fuzzy Drive,
wall of sound efforts.

OVERDRIVES- LPD PEDALS ___all the MIAB pedals

LPD PEDALS

Original enclosures v.1
I have been raving about these Marshall pedals for 8 years.
I bought them when each came out.
You really need all three. The Sixyt 8, Seventy 4 and Eighty 7.
You do not need the Big Deluxe ones. Just get the standard 'B' size.
There is a review of all of them. I have the 3 in the pic.
All hand made, tested, tweaked and boxed by Lawrence Petross himself.

Finally they are in Europe not just Stateside and direct.

_____TUBE AMP in a BOX ____ an understated game changer?

KEEP YOUR TRUE PLEXI SOUND
Some of us will never give up our Plexi amps
for modeler. Maybe we do not have to???

thefineprint
As a guy with years using a few Plexi amps if you want the closet to the real deal the Friedman IR-D smokes the others.
The others do sound very impressive but they are simply not versatile and will not cover dozens of genres well.
The Friedman IR-D merely needs the right pedal/or pedals to do what the others do. One thing I have found
is my tastes and my skill set changes over the years. So, changing out a pedal or two is no big deal but
changing an amps is. These Pre amps are in effect your amp. So give it some serious thought before
you jump on any modern hot rod Pre's. They unlike the classic Plexi have a short shelf life.
Only the Plexi comes without a 'Best Before' warning.

____SHABAT GUITARS____At the Guitar Summit 2024____ with Vega Trem!!!

SHABAT GUITARS
Same old but different ??? Having a guitar come with a Vega Trem
whammy already on the guitar is very impressive.

OD/BOOST-- J.ROCKET AUDIO DESIGNS PXO __Phil X signature pedal __ PREVIEW__

J ROCKET  AUDIO  DESIGNS
   | P X O  Boost&Overdrive
Phil has always been a Marshall with pedals guy. Lately he has been doing tours playing live with his own band that seems to have both new members and guests coming in and out. Many gigs are very impromptu block parties. In spite of replacing members of famous bands often on a moments notice he just loves to play whether it is sold out show of a big name band like Bon Jovi or a barbeque at your neighbours house it is all the same to him. He loves great tone but above all simple hands on gear that simply does the job.
The layout for the OD is Volume, Treble, Bass and Gain. The Boost is Level and a Tilt tone control. Turn it clockwise for more Treble or counterclockwise for more Bass. The Boost has a switch  to act either pre-overdrive or Post.

WHAT DOES IT SOUND LIKE????

Good question. On one hand this is a leak. On the other you can pre-order it on Sweetwater right this second.
Regular readers know since I can not be first to let you know of a pedal as I use others videos. I can be second, lol.
I was promised a video but it fell thru. My guess is early next week. Monday ? maybe but
likely Tuesday.

PHIL GIVES US A SHOUT OUT

REVERB- UNIVERSAL AUDIO UAFX Evermore... Lexicon 224 Reverb cloned

$100.00 USD
UNIVERSAL AUDIO
evermore STUDIO REVERB
In 1978 Lexicon was the first successful digital reverb offed to the studios. EMT who owned the market with its giant metal Plate Reverb made an effort in 1976 but it was crude in comparison. Their EMT Plate was twice the price and virtually needed its own room to house it so the Lexicon seemed tiny in both size and price. At $8000 it was half the price.
The Layout tells it all. You get Bass, Mids and Treble. A switch to chose Room, Small Room and Large Hall. You even get modulation. A feature Lexicon offered long before pedals added it as if it was something new. Finally you have the wet/dry Blend knob.
          CONCLUSION ___
A bullet proof and simple unit at a really great price. Many makers offer budget non descript units. I paid this for my JHS with virtually
one sound in it. So unless you are into the 'Ambience' thing you do
not need more. Even with an all bells and whistles verb you may
need it for part but not all a tune so when you turn it off your
guitar sounds weird to go back to a zero, no verb, dry sound.
...the pedal is normally $220.00 USD so $100.00 USD is a factory sale.
If you want one do not wait

FUZZ- BENSON AMPS Storkn BOks___NEW___ David Torn signature Fuzz

 BENSON AMPS
STORKN BOks
$290.00 USD
It is the third pedal made by Benson using their patent temperature control that allows germanium transistors to work at a fixed temperature. Hendrix used a half dozen Fuzz Face germanium pedals as they would thin out in sound or even shut down on him from temperature changes on stage. I saw him live twice and he kept a spare Fuzz beside the one he had on.
The unit can switch between a Tone Bender Mk1 and a Zonk Machine Mk1 for using on down tuned guitars. The layout is Tone, Filter, Bass, Volume and Trim.
    CONCLUSION ___
Needless to say it uses NOS 2N404 & 2N52t germanium transistors. You get a lot not on the originals to tweak and
dead on reliability. A pedal that is reliable is gigable and
for many that do session playing it matters to also be recordable.
I find it very much a bit over the top and prefer a T-Bender Mk1
but basically stock with its chunky fat, velco sound and us
it as boost pedal because of its very limited sustain.
Or a Zonk Mk2 with its silicon transistor.

COMPRESSOR/EQ/BOOST- LPD PEDALS CLE-304___NEW___ Problem Solver

 LPD PEDALS CLE-304
Comp/EQ/Boost
$250.00 USD
The layout is simple with the Comp having just Level, Ratio and Blend. The EQ is a full 3 way with cut and boost for Bass, Mids and Treble. Finally you get an added Booster.
The cool thing is you can even use it as an always on using it to mimic a great old amp that gives you that just before crunch sound that keeps you cleans fat, full and punchy yet still seeming very clean.
   CONCLUSION ___
It has that LPD magic of everything is a sweet spot. You can define your sound without a control giving you more or less of what it says it does or interacting with the other controls in a negative way. Add to that it takes seconds to get a great sound. Best of all ....
'no manual required'.

FUZZ/PITCH SHIFTER- KEELEY Octave PSI___NEW___ more than the sum of the whole

K E E L E Y  Electronics
$250.00 USD
OCTA PSI
What we get is a really heavy Fuzz with the ability to change or add different pitches within a 2 octave range. With the layout you have Fuzz, Level and Tone. A rotary switch gives you presets of useful pitches. A Toggle lets you shift to Up, Dual or down an octave.
Another toggle gives you Blend, Punch, Scoop or PSI with a gritty BIAS starved tone.
The footswitch lets you control the pitch for bending, or ramping  etc.
         CONCLUSION ___
It has a massive sound and the pitch things are very usable in a tune. It is not about shoegaze and Star Wars but a thing if Hendrix were alive he would be showing you how to use it next week. It may even be like the Uni-Vibe that became a 'thing' of its own.

SHOOT OUT____ STRYMON vs. BOSS ...so without delay, check it out, lol

CHOOSE ME 😇

What do you get for your $

...the Strymon DIG is         $380.00 USD
...the BOSS SDE-3 is          $220.00 USD

OVERDRIVE- MOD TONE Classic Valve Distortion... 8 years old & still hanging in

 ModTone
$25.00 USD
C L A S S I C  V A L V E   DISTORTION
These pedals were aimed by a distributor originally at the thousands of mom & pop small town stores and not to the bigger chains that these small stores could never compete with. The idea worked at first until the online stores like Sweetwater changed the game. Now ModTone itself still exists but by selling direct. Not surprising they are made in China by a company who makes the same pedals with Rogue, or Belcat as its brand.
This pedal is an old style hardclipper that borrows from MXR Distortion+
and the DOD 250 Preamp.
    CONCLUSION ___
I quite like it for the reasons it was hated by many
when it came out. It is raspy and harsh. BUT it is
not bit buzzy or fizzy. It is very aggressive and can
cut through the mix and add some bite and grit or
sub for a Fuzz. My guess is it would pay for itself
as a gritty booster pedal stacked on another OD.

COMPRESSOR- WARM AUDIO Pedal76 FET Comp.___NEW___ yes ...another 76

WARM AUDIO Pedal76
$270.00 USD
Universal Audio have always owned the brand and still make the original rack and 2 versions of guitar pedals. The pedals are digital models. Origin makes the Cali76 and they do 4 versions of it but it
is real FETS.
The WARM also uses FETS but like the rack it uses a transformer which adds to the sound. At the moment the newest version of the Origin is the hot one to have. At $370.00 it sells well but needless
to say there is not a line up. Finally there is a clone by Ly-Rock
version of the Origin Cali76 Stacked for $115.00. Unfortunately
there are no videos of it.
   |CONCLUSION ____
So don't ask which is.... They all have their plus factors.
Origin have the longest track record of the 76' in a pedal
with every few years a new specialized model, custom
and /or improved models.

CHORUS- WARM AUDIO WA-C1 Stereo Chorus___NEW___ serious Roland/BOSS clone

WARM AUDIO  Warm Chorus Vibrato
$190.00 USD
It is a clone of the one sold by Roland taken from their Jazz Chorus Amp. Version 2 was sold by a division of the company they named BOSS, 😐.
The layout is simple with a toggle to best work with high
or lower output guitars. Both the Chorus and Vibrato have
Depth and Rate.
    CONCLUSION __
It is a stereo effect and sounds best that way.
Unless you want the Vibrato I feel you are
better off with a BOSS CE-2 or a good
clone of it. Even more so if you play
in mono.
