ModTone
C L A S S I C V A L V E DISTORTION
These pedals were aimed by a distributor originally at the thousands of mom & pop small town stores and not to the bigger chains that these small stores could never compete with. The idea worked at first until the online stores like Sweetwater changed the game. Now ModTone itself still exists but by selling direct. Not surprising they are made in China by a company who makes the same pedals with Rogue, or Belcat as its brand.
This pedal is an old style hardclipper that borrows from MXR Distortion+
and the DOD 250 Preamp.
CONCLUSION ___I quite like it for the reasons it was hated by manywhen it came out. It is raspy and harsh. BUT it isnot bit buzzy or fizzy. It is very aggressive and cancut through the mix and add some bite and grit orsub for a Fuzz. My guess is it would pay for itselfas a gritty booster pedal stacked on another OD.
