RING MODULATOR- CHICAGO STOMPWORKS Octave Up ...Green Ringer clone

CHICAGO STOMPWORKS
OCTAVE UP´
$60.00 USD
The company has been around since Noah got off the Ark. The guy had a
very novel idea. Why not build well built clones made to get abused at your club
gig that are dirt cheap? He did this when something made in China meant it was probably a bamboo wind chime.
He even has a lifetime warranty. Total abuse does not count, LOL. In short a diode dies a transistor tanks you get a free fix.
If you ever used an Octave fuzz you will identify the sound. The thing is the pedal gives that biting octave squelch even on a clean sound.
Dan Armstrong's Green Ringer from the early 70's was the first such unit.
You literally plugged it into your guitar. Bad idea, lol.
Technically it works by sending two unrelated signals thru a preamp at the same time. During the analog days of phones it was discovered by trying to send two phone calls through a cable at the same time. It did not work but it sounded
cool to the Bell Labs guys.
The layout is footswitch. The learning curve is bit difficult but worth the effort.😕
CONCLUSION
Yes like all Ring Mods you get some discordant flatted 5th vibe but it does a good job of not letting
it slide into the Shoegaze and Star Wars domain. It can put a good riff right in your face or
take a solo to another level. It is priced right for pedal that is meant for some spice but
not the whole meal.

the fine print
Best demo of a pedal I have ever seen &
I have seen a very minimum of
4000 reviews.
