COOL STUFF!!!
FLAMMA
Flamma brought out their digital pedals.
A Reverb, a Delay a Reverb/Delay combo pedal, a modulation pedal and even a modeling pedal with 7 killer amps. The Reverb/Delay is only $100.00 USD but better still all the others are only $68.00 USD.
The price is nothing without a quality design and build ...which you get. The real killer is they use high end chips so the specs are a lot better than Strymon!!!
DUNLOP/MXR EP-103 ECHOPLEX
Just when you thought it was safe buying a Flamma :-)
The Echoplex is hardly a state of the art delay pedal. I have one the Empress Echosystem with state of the art chips and the poor man's Strymon the Flamma. I also have a few analog delays too. My point is I play a Plexi and I love it. BUT! Modern delays will work through the front end of an amp but they are begging for at the least an effects loop. Enter the Echoplex. The original tape machine model was all about going through the front of an amp and sounded damn god doing that. The pedal was designed to sound like and create the same sound doing the same thing.
Dave Friedman is it's biggest fan. He owns most of the high end faves and uses them too. But this is his fave! Because it just f.ing works! In short shredding thru an Echoplex into a Plexi is.... it just IS!
CALINE 3 of 'em
HEY !!! How did day do dat ??? |
The Caline Fuzzy Bear ...Fuzzface some say it is a real germanium Fuzz. I wish!!! It appears to be rumor that morphed into realty by online stores.
but WTF! It is only $30.00 USD and it sounds great.
The Caline CP-75 Emerald Night is not just their new Tube Screamer it literally sounds dead on to the Ibanez TS-9. At $35.00 USD I've heard it and it is true !!!
While we are at it the Caline Pure Sky has done well for a few years. Why?
Many say because it sounds a bit like a Timmy. Well yes ...but NO.
The Veruandam Jan Ray sounds a bit like a Timmy too ...but sells for $375.00 USD and has no trouble getting it.
Surprise ..Surprise the $30.00 USD
Pure Sky is a Jan Ray clone. It is a
damn good clone too. Put them
side by side and give a listen and
you will have a "Holy F_ck!" moment!
MARSHALL BLUESBREAKER v.1 ...UK model
Ever since one turned up on John Meyer's pedalboard the price has gone from expensive to stupid. With a now second renewed interest in the pedal a excellent condition one goes for $1400.00 USD.
Knock offs and 'Me Too's' are everywhere with JHS, Snouse, Wampler, Xotic, Mojo Hand, Vick Audio & AnalogMan being the most notable etc. etc. None of these pedals are cheap either.
BIG BUT ... Chicago Stompbox makes the Blooze Maker. They have been doing it for years quietly under the radar and selling mostly from word of mouth.
It is more than clone the circuit is carbon copy ...handmade using new old stock parts. So for just $70.00 USD you get the real deal. Better still you get a lifetime warranty!!! I just got one and it blows my JHS Morning Glory out of the water!
FENDER TONE MASTER TM-57
I have not heard this pedal yet. It was sent to me from a guy in Russia. I am guessing it might be part of Fenders Tone Master line because it has TM-57 on it
I am dying to try it out.
NUX RECTO Re-issue Series
Nux re-issued 5 pedals from 2010 the Plexi Crush is a killer and now too is the Recto a MESA Dual Rectifier pedal and a very convincing take on it as well. Both are $50.00 USD so hell ...check them out.
It gets even better!
NUX re-brands some of their pedal to be sold by distributors. The Twinote brand sells the same pedal as their Boogie Distortion for $25.00 USD with free shipping! Yep! $25! what's to loose!
K-MISE US DREAM
K-mise make a few quite good pedals. They rebrand them for distributors
like Saphue and Musiclily. The pedals are very well made and sound impressive. They are also mini pedals so they are board friendly.
The US Dream is an excellent clone of the Shur Riot overdrive.
buy it with the Saphue label and it is $16.00 USD.
Yes you read that right! Did I order one? WTF kind of question is that???
They are easily head to head with dozens of OD's that sell for $200 plus!
Seriously they are that good.
Hello Paul.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of Mooer's Blues Crab pedal which is a clone of Marshall's Bluesbreaker pedal.
What do you think about this? Have you used it?
Thank you
I find Mooer was a reasonable substitute a few years ago but at $62.00 USD with the price of the Blooze Maker at $70.00 USD price is not an issue. The 'Blooze'has original specs and better still NOS parts and a lifetime warranty. It is nobrainer choice.
ReplyDeleteIf it is a budget thing Mooer make re-brands for over 20 distributors who have their brand name on the same pedal. The rebrand guys want big sellers like a Tube Screamer clone so at the moment I can not find one. Too bad as it would not be more than $35.00 USD. bottom line though the 'Blooze' is 'keeper' you are likely to get other OD's over the years but a 'true' Bluesbreaker pedal never looses it's usefulness.
Thank you, Paul
DeleteDid some looking the (Aroma)Tomsline Bluesy ABY-3 (vintage blues overdrive)is a Mooer Blues Crab best price was on Amazon for$40.00 USD
ReplyDeleteI got the Mooer Blues Crab for $ 36.00 USD
