The layout is different but all with a purpose. The pedal gives you volume and gain with

a fixed half Boss OD and half Rat vibe. A germanium clipping diode is a great touch throwing some warmth into the mix.

The magic is with the Depth and Blend control. For a start the Blend does not blend in cleans but a second stage of gain and is at unity around 2 clock. Depth is neutral at 12 o'clock but down cuts the lows and up adds them.

To give the pedal dynamics and headroom a charge pump internally boasts the 9v signal coming in to 18v.
