The neck is roasted maple that makes it free of moisture that in other woods would take 

20 years to get this dry, and dry means stability. The body is Philippines Nyatoh which 

is often called Asian Mahogany. The tuners are Jinho J-03 with the look and spec of Gotoh. 

Most Asian guitars made by well known brand name use them. In short ...they are more 

than adequate.

In other words the guitar does NOT need upgrades but we all love upgrades and even the 

Gibson gets it's PU's pulled just because we want a very specific brand and model. The PU's 

in the HB are more than usable but if you do upgrade you have not paid for PU's that were 

a big part of your guitar outlay.
