The designer has had all the classic transparent drives on his bench and 

on his scope. He designed this by seeing what they didn't do, lol. I expect 

the layout is Volume, Tone and Gain? The left footswitch increases the compression/saturation. Inside there is a switch to cut some bass and 

another to reduce the saturation. 

   CONCLUSION __

There is no such thing as a transparent OD. There are low

gain ODs and ODs with cleans blended in or even Clean 

Boost pedals called ODs. 

My ear says we are dealing with symmetrical distortion.  

A Tube Screamer is ALL symmetrical distortion. The voice 

of the Tone Oven is much flatter. It doesn't have a ts poke 

in the upper mids. I expect used as a boost stacked on

other dirt pedals it could really fatten them up.
