Back in the ancient past the Tube Screamer hadn't even been thought 

of let alone invented. If you wanted some serious poke from your stack you bought a Range Master Germanium Treble Booster which became your always on box. Iommi, Page and Brian May all had one 

as it was as normal as guys having a Tube Screamer.

The big problem is they used very sensitive Germanium transistors. 

If you used another pedal which eventually happened they could make weird noises or f. up the sound into a fuzzy nasal thin sound. 

DS has a toggles to switch in a protective buffer if needed and also another to match the input so that modern high output or active PU's 

do not mess with the sound. Yes it is very insect friendly it protects buffers from attacking the units bugs 😟

CONCLUSION __ 

I love them but I had an all original circuit 

and it would not work with my rig. I only 

paid $65 new so it was worth a try.
