FUZZ- BLACK CAT D&S ...via Electro Harmonix, Maxon, Ibanez, AnalogMan to ...You?

 BLACK CAT
 D&S  ‖
$175.00 USD
The Big Muff was copied by the Maxon in 1974 as the the D&S.
When Ibanez wanted it the name was changed and referred to
as the Maxon/Ibanez 801. The pedal was after a  few years
discontinued but in 1993 Fred Bonte brought it back when
he started Black Cat. Black Cat died in 2007 thru mismanagement.
It was revamped by others for short sporadic periods and now the
only pedal left you can buy is AnalogMan's version.
The layout is a basic Volume Gain and Tone. The tone is not
Electro Harmonix but a Maxon design. It much better and
gives the unit an identifiable sound.
   CONCLUSION ____
The sound is very, very open, airy, fat and warm. It is effectively assertive without being aggressive or angry. It works as well out front as laying back behind a vocal with a near grand orchestral vibe. It is keeper,
once on your board it stays
like it was nailed on.

NOTE- Compare the Maxon with the Black Cat
