Many surprises as the guitars are rated by price, fit and and finish, choice of models, repair frequency and resale value.
I have a guitar that took the number one spot that is so good I will probably buy another guitar but this one is keeper. I will never sell it. It is better made than an American Fender!!!
I should know I own both!!!

1/ First it is brand that thanks to Jimmy Page who loves
them has permanently put them on the map. So a star who plays one is not thought of using an un-cool guitar.
2/ Thousands of players both semi-pro and pro play one. Many usually
own an expensive American made guitar as well.
3/ It has an excellent resale value.
Danos that are only 5 years old sell for at least what you paid for them
so it is like having a FREE rental for 5 years.
4/ They are made in Korea ... often called the New Japan!
5/ Quality?
Every year for the last 3 years they have improved both the quality and the build.
The fit and finish is equal to guitars that cost 3 times the price.
The newest ones come with a bridge made of grade 'A' steel and it is
twice the thickness of other bridges made in this style.
The PU's have been upgraded to 50's spec.
It still uses open gear tuners but now you get Gotoh tuners.
Luthiers and guitar techs claim that nothing is made better. 6/ The guitar is considered Cool even by those who play a style of music that the guitar simply does not fit. |
