OVERDRIVE- J ROCKETT AUDIO HRM V.2 ____ NEW ____ Dumble-in-a-Box

J.ROCKETT AUDIO HRM
HOT RUBBER MONKEY V.2
$230.00 USD
The infamous Dumble amp started life as Fender Bassman with a bit of DeLuxe and other Fenders thrown into the mix. Each was was hot rodded for the owner until it was perfect and if the guy thought just a few weeks later something was not just quite right he could bring it back and stay with Howard for days until they got it perfect. All this cost you $50,000.00 USD.
The problem is even if a pedal nails a Dumble. Which one did it nail. Was the first, the 34th or the 68th one made ??? There are Dumbles with EL34 tubes and others with 6L6 tubes. In short some are kind of a Marshall and others are a Fender???
Dumbles are famous for their clarity, touch sensitivity, definition and its bit of a growl and rasp when pushed. Some say if you have a few dead notes on
your guitar the Dumble will fix them.
The thing I find is most Dumble pedals sound antiseptic and have no punch or warmth. This is definitely a BIG exception.
The layout is level, gain top end, and mids. The basic voice is very fixed. It is meant to do and be just one thing and to have just enough tweak to settle into to your rig.
CONCLUSION _____
I have always hated Dumble pedals. Some people wet their pants if they
owned a Hermida Zen-Drive. If the ZD sounded like a Dumble than a
Corvette is a Ferrari, WTF. Most pricey Dumble pedals are Zen-Drives
that new cost as much as collector pays for Zen-Drive.
The HRM checks my only critical box. It does just one thing but nails it.
But their Dude pedal does as much ???
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE
Two Dumble's and 2 sounds. Best of all the guy uses a Strat.
Nothing is easier to tell some transparency. The Strat has a
chime and bell like tone that comes through on a very open
and transparent pedal and when it doesn't than the pedal
is the sound the guitar has been smothered,
