OVERDRIVE- MOSKY Crunch Red Distortion- a $25 clone of a clone

MOSKY CRUNCH RED DISTORTION
$25.00 USD
Just over 14 years ago the Australian amp maker MI brought out the MI Crunch Distortion pedal. The buzz was it sounded like a Marshall. It did but not 'that' Marshall. It is loosely based from the original Marshall Guv'nor pedal. It was big news. In fact the JHS Angry Charlie is oddly close the MI take on the Guv'nor. A
ll cynicism aside they all have bit of a Marshall JTM 45 vibe.
So the Mosky isn't new either. It came out 5 years ago. At the time there were a lot of good MIAB pedals showing up and the Mosky though pretty damn good was around $50 and it was pulled after a couple of years.
The layout is volume gain and tone. The extra presence knob is great, as its biggest sounds will be with the tone pulled back and without it the sound would get too dark.
CONCLUSION
As noted the price is right. If bought on AliExpress this price
covers the shipping. In short so that $25 puts it right in your hand.
It does give you a nice JTM 45 vibe. It's mini so you can tuck it in somewhere on your board :-)

  1. I have the Mosky D250x. It is really good and I paid it less than $20. Your favorite Mosky pedal?

  2. I like the Mosky Magnetic Echo ..it's a Keeley Mag Echo clone. Moogoo own Mosky and DemonFX. The Mosky labeled 'handmade' and DemonFX are made by the same employees. You can get a DemonFX Tape Echo. Both pedals are the same.
