For years Shnobel has been showing us gear, mostly pedals on his own
YouTube site. He also did session work and gigs all very much like the better known Pete Thorn. He got the bug to make a better OD than those he demoed so for 5 years he quit the gig thing and did several apprenticeships with the gourmet guys he respected. His first pedal of note was the Daily Driver. 

The F. Simes takes it cues from that and still has the punch and sustain but it is even more transparent. The overall effect is like having the attack of a silver face Twin Reverb but the warmth of an old Tweed or brown face. The pedal runs on 9v but it has a lot of headroom. I expect it uses a charge pump because it uses 100ma to run on that. Most OD only need no more than 20 ma and some half that.

The layout is simple with volume, tone and gain.

CONCLUSION

First a big shout out for the classic hammertone finish I love it!!! It gives punch and just enough sustain to a Strat but it never hides the Strat sound on any note or chord even if its on the low A or E strings. 

The video is a lesson in tone. Nothing preachy just solid advice.
