On all those early records Dave Gilmour's OD of choice was a Chandler BK Butler Tube Driver. He often used two. One with a 12AX7 tube for high gain and even a 12AU7 or even a 12AT7 for lower gain. They were designed using their own power supply converts A/C to D/C. They were incredibly noisy and often unreliable. Luco Columbo has created a transistor clone even letting you change the gain to match the tube choices.Trust me the guy always nail a vocin with uncanny accuracy. Hand made 'just' like the originals.
