Little Bear have been around for years making both pedals and others products primarily tube products like pramps, headphone amps and other products aimed at a niche of Consumer Hi Fi customers who want a tube sound.
The Little Bear virtually nailed the ProCo-Rat then added Pro-Co's 'You Dirty Rat' and the 'Turbo Rat' into that same box.
CONCLUSION
Virtually all old style hard clipper OpAmp distortion pedals started as a Rat since they invented the whole concept and virtually the first Overdrive ever.
I have a NOS clone of the original 'big box' Rat.
It has more refined sound with better definition'
The V2 is a lot ruder. Totally in your face and raw.
I have checked out everything including the new Wampler Ratbane and the soon to hit Caline Queen Bee.
The 'Bear' is far more versatile them the current RAT but with 28 dirt pedals on my board I am all about getting a pedal with a perfect sound even if it is just one sound.
If you only have a few dirt pedals getting a 'Bear' will
really open up a lot of possibilities. At the price ...why not?
BUT ...WTF after days of comparing them all the
ProCo is really what I need!
Given the price if you only have a dirt pedal or two you
can not go wrong with the 'Bear' as it has at least
3 totally pro and usable sounds.
