FUZZ- BSM J-Fuzz ... Jennings/Vox Fuzz makes a welcome return

 BSM J-FUZZ
$290.00 USD

If you want a Treble booster from the 60's BSM have one. In fact they make 22 different ones. They recently have a few Fuzz pedals. There is no denying the quality of their product as it is handmade and uses NOS parts. I only tend to ignore it because it is usually at least 30% more than a competitor. The thing is for most of their pedals they are the only company that makes one.
Dick Denney was the guy that designed the VOX AC30.
When Vox went bust he took a job with Tom Jennings also from Vox and started making pedals that were sold by other companies under their brand names.
In this case most of the Model J Fuzz can be found as the Roto-Sound fuzz.
The pedal could not be more simple as it only has a volume control. the overall sound has drone like liquid quality.
CONCLUSION
It ain't no Muff. You won't be using this as a sub for an OD. It has one sound but it is very pleasing. A kind of liquid wall of sound that for a Fuzz is actually very mellow. I love it but at the price I am not tempted. It is the Fuzz equivalent to a ambient reverb pedal. Cool but where will you use it?
