OVERDRIVE- GNI Shred Pro SP-1 ...fat sound with a very natural organic tone

 GNI SHRED PRO SP-1
$255.00 USD

GNI are a Brazilian company that have been around
for a long time but under the radar.
Andy Timmons uses their Dual Chorus.

The SP is GNI's take on a Brit sound. It has a full
even fat and quite natural tube amp tone.
The set up is standard with 3 way EQ gain and level.
The boost can be used on it's own. It gives you a switch for
3 different voices. A bright, traditional and a fat sound
for single coils.

It does suffer with a lack of dynamics on the attack that tends kill some of the clarity. I miss the smack of Marshalls brilliance on every pore of the sound even with it's treble cut back ...the Dawner Prince Red Rox takes this approach to their Plexi pedal
to the edge!
On the whole though the GNI sound is very organic. Nothing over produced!!!

I would compare the two to see which camp fits your music best. If the GNI is still really appealing then check the Tritonlab Labyrinth. It covers both of the bases. Super fat with a nice sparkling attack too. For most people The Tritonlab is perfect. Great attack but still the fattest.
