Old Mike says this is a faithful repro of the original very first Big Muff ever made.
It was cool enough 50 years ago to make Dave Gilmour switch to it.
It had the hint of things to come as it was heading away from the identifiable 'fuzz' of a Fuzz pedal's sound and starting to have a near moder OD tone. Going thru any amp at the time they were of course ALL tube amps ...it not only sounded identifiable but gave a player a serious pro sound!!!
The silver coloured MXR style case is much more pedalboard friendly.
In my opinion all future EH product should use it. Nothing has come
along that is either better looking or more practical.
I expect it will show up on boards of guys who normally would never buy a Fuzz. Just too many greats played one not to have the fun of adding yourself to the list. :-)
Next week the big boy reviewers will all get a pedal so expect the first reviews. None will be bad as these guys get paid. :-)
The price is reasonable. One thing I respect about EH is they don't get greedy when pricing new product.
Dealers are allowed to take pre-orders as of today.
