EQ- MASTER EFFECTS VEQ ___NEW___ MESA BOOGIE Mark Series EQ pedal

$200.00 USD
MASTER EFFECTS V EQ  ·.·
It is a serious take on the Graphic EQ in a Boogie Mk Series.
It uses a charge pump to give you the headroom of the
actual amps EQ. The Layout has 5 sliders like the Boogie
at 80Hz, 240Hz, 750Hz, 220Hz and 6200Hz.
They have added an input control that brings in some tube like preamp gain. The output level can slam your amp.
     CONCLUSION __
It nails the amps classic scoop but if you want perhaps a more modern sound with more mids
and gain it does it better than the best of the
boosts out there. I for one am impressed.
I love it.

  2. They are 2 different things. The Gehenna is a PreAmp not an EQ/booster. I like the EQ as it can be used with all my dirt pedals to add plus double their potential. That said you can justify owning both :-)

  3. Tony Iommi used those Mesa/Boogie heads with the EQ on the Mob Rules tour. He had about 6 of them and each EQ’d to show a big scooped smile. We thought that EQ shape was completely idiotic. We were running “regular” unmodified 100w Marshall heads with a Furman PQ3 set at 800hz, narrow band. This setting gave you, more or less, the sound of a half cocked wah pedal. In other words, a low E and a high E sounded very similar, if not identical, in terms of the notes sonic characteristics. But, different strokes for different folks huh?
Our job was to cut through multilayed vocals, drums, keyboards and we used 800hz as a tool for just that, while Tony Iommi (for whom I have nothing but respect and admiration) was the sole sonic reason for Black Sabbath to exist; He can do anything he wants!
