PREP for NAMM
NOTE: HOW NAMM DOESN'T WORK
The thing about NAMM is opening day is not the first day to walk around
and look at the booths etc. It is the day to put them up from scratch.
In short huge trucks with everything in cases and boxes need to be moved
by hand about an hour away from where they will be assembled. About half
will be done by tomorrow and others will show visitors tomorrow
morning with it only half up, half out and very little working, LOL😟
I have both been a visitor and a buyer for a store and a product specialist
for Ibanez where I demoed and showed guys all over the world how to use
the pedals so they can demo them in the stores they work for back home.
For many English is their second language. That made for a lot of humour
and fun for all of us. Part of the real fun was working in chaos. Things would
malfunction, things would fall over and things would have been forgotten to pack.
I can remember one day asking every visitor for a pick. All day long several guys
would be playing a guitar often unplugged but they wanted a pick. OOPS! 😕
One of our guys had to go to a local music store and came back with big
bowl of Fender picks. A bit embarrassing, LOL.
The next day another guy went out. He came back with Gibson picks, WTF!! 😶
