The original purpose of a Tube Screamer was to allow the countless thousands that had single channel Combo amps a bit of Crunch so they could get into the territory their heros got playing an old school single channel Marshall stack that they could neither afford or even transport.
It was all about a player playing in bedrooms, garage bands and weekend warriors playing the local pubs. It was so successful that being a player no longer meant a guitar and amp. It meant a Guitar, Amp and Tube Screamer. New pedal makers soon learned that they could pay the rent every month with the guaranteed success of their version. CONCLUSION __
It is a very good hard-clipper OD.It is NOT a Tube Screamer.
