ABSOLUTE ZERO FUZZ

Movall make great sounding and well made pedals. They clone bit not the original but something that has been out for years. Uf you clone an original Fuzz Face you can not get all the parts cheap if at all. If you clone a 10 or 15 year old pedal then the parts are new enough to have if not the exact ones you can at least get a very good substitute. my guess this is a OpAmp Fuzz Face with both Germanium and Silicon diodes that was at the time the original was made it was a big deal. 

The layout is an Input and Output Level. The Input is more of a pad to weaken the input to get a starved input sound or to keep an active PU from overloading the unit.  Color is tone control. A toggle leys you choose Germanium of Silicon diodes.

        CONCLUSION ___

Nothing mind blowing but a very, very real world usable Fuzz. I always 

say if you can get one really great totally pro sound you have all you 

need. A pricy unit may have 2 or 3 great sounds. The Big But is months 

later you have a favorite and you never use anything else. You off 

course paid as much as 5 times more for what in the end is one sound.

The amp was the solid state go to for young guys wanting a Marshall stack back in the 70's and 80's to play Metal without the $. They used its exaggerate huge thumping bass frequencies to invent new genres of Metal, not the least being Doom. 

The layout is nicely kept amp like. We get Volume, Drive (which on an amp is Preamp volume) Treble, Mids and Bass. 

CONCLUSION ___ 

Yes there are several other company making their take on the amp. None are crap. Some are maybe more true to the amp and others are impressionistic. They are looking to exaggerate a huge sound into an extra Jumbo super large sound, lol. This one is more amp like but one could argue if its the same amp. 

It checks all the boxes. It is fat, and aggressive. It has enough 

bite & overtones to cut and not get lost in the mix. Best of all it 

has a lot of balz!!!

The price is a pre crazy prices. Todays standard price is more like 

$230.00 USD for a U.S. made dirt box.

This is not their first try. They still sell the $380.00 USD 10 year old El Capistan version. 

Strymon still hold top spot with digital Verbs and Delays but many others have caught up and with even better specs. Add 

to that if Strymon is a 10 out of 10 for their sound then a few others 5 times cheaper get 9 out of 10. Yes, the cheapies have less feature's but Star Wars, Shoegaze features are all but useless playing what an audience calls a tune. 

CONCLUSION __ 

I have the UAFX Orion a clone of the same EchoPlex I bought for $99.00 USD!!!! It too gets a 10 out of 10 for sound. In fact the pedal runs on software developed years ago for studio's to use. There are tenfold more recordings with the UA software then the real EchoPlex EP-2 tape echo machine.

So the Strymon is a nice enough average sounding delay pedal 

but it is not even close to the real machine. I should know 

I had a v.1 in 1971. The MXR EchoPlex analog pedal is closer! 

Strymon make some killer pedals but this one sucks!!!  

If you want a basic Strymon delay but infinitely better 

get their Brig dBucket Delay for the same price.

New??? Not exactly. SD have made one version or another for 16 years. It is simply a dead clean 25dB boost with a switch to make a choice of one of 2 pokes in your mids. It can give your single coils a bit of fat or add more 

boost, hence dirt ...by slamming your amp input.

            CONCLUSION __ 

Unless you are trying to stack it on a dirt pedal than 

the straight clean does sweet F. all except make 

things louder. The 2 Resonance/mid poke voices

are not bad.

No it is not the best of the best or we would not have the 70's Elk. A MIJ clone. We are offered the Triangle which is generally considered the first Muff. The Russian appears to be the recruit for all Soviet Fuzz pedals.

The layout is a volume and gain for all 3 and 3 toggles to select which Fuzz you stack on what? 

CONCLUSION ___

To be fair this is meant for Doom players and does not 

pretend to be a one size fits all.

The video is less than stelar. The guy wants to be the poster boy for those that 

feel Doom is the art form for the incompetent. The tunes are for an audience of one.

CONCLUSION ___ 

It sounds killer but it virtually one fixed 

sound that can be made a little fuller 

but not much more.

3rd party downloads. No it is not stereo the extra jacks are an 

effects loop. 

The specs are not published but you have a 48 kHz sampling rate. 

Unusually very high spec, for an entry level pedal.

    CONCLUSION ____ 

A lot of guys are happy with a plug and play. This has 

all the classic amps and a few gourmet types too. Best 

of all the sampling rate is serious sh@t. In short you 

get a world class sound so recording should not let 

you down. Other makers have features that allow 

for a lot of tweaking and choices but as the cliche 

goes ...you can put lipstick on a pig but it is still a pig.  

              ...Not a toy!!!

DELAY- JACQUES STOMPBOXES Prisoner Delay... Dynacord Studio delay clone

This company in Marseilles France has been going since 1999 a full 26 years. This pedal is based off of the 1982 Dynacord VRS-23 analog delay. a The Prisoner is all about exquisite warm tone not specs as early BBD chips which it uses were a very limited tech. They can only do 300ms. In short there delay time is limited. 

The layout is Rate 7 Mod is modulation for a tape delay vibe. the delay is  Repeat, Time and Level for blending.  

 

CONCLUSION __

The beautify of a great analog delay is it frames your guitar. 

It never competes with it. The audience listens to your music 

not like digital that often borders on Hollywood special effects. 

This is so good you can pull it back and it sounds as good if

not better to use it as an always on Reverb.

The topography is most probably based on the Elektra Distortion from the U.S. made Electra Les Paul clone 

of the mid 70's It featured FX by simply inserting interchangeable modules. Their Fuzz sounds  

more like a RAT Hardclipper OD than a Fuzz.

                      CONCLUSION ___ 

Many pedals use this circuit. I feel 

the best is the Ananashead Effects

This is the hot channel from their 3 channel amp meant to challenge the many hot rod amps we have everywhere today. Everywhere you look you see bands playing different genres but using one of the classics. The amp suffers from trying to be too many things to too many players.  

      CONCLUSION ___ 

It does hold onto a Marshall vibe but lets you have it 

in a super shred form. That suggests especially in a 

pedal form a lot of guys will love it.

The idea of this was to give you the JCM 800 already modded and to many this sounds more like what they think they heard on records where an 800 was indeed used. It never became a true classic as it was not a new idea anymore. That said the fact is it sounds killer.

   CONCLUSION __  

For a pedal guy wanting a JCM 800 on his board it may 

be a much better choice. It has that high gain thing we 

love. It sounds more Marshall than Marshall.

After about a decade of seeing players having their Plexi modified Marshall came up with a much higher gain amp. It too was sent out 

to  modifier techs, LOL. Even so many styles were Hard Rock not really Metal at the time so it was used as is out of the box on hundreds 

of big hit records.

   CONCLUSION ___

It is perhaps the most influential amp. It was the 

go too for  other companies to clone. It is on a 

thousand records. Hundreds were modded. 

It is still a go to amp even when left unmodded.
