OVERDRIVE- CKK ELECTRONICS XHXC OD/Boost ...a Klon, a $500 Klon ?

CKK ELECTRONICS
XHXC OD/Boost

This is one of the guys custom shop pedals. He spends hours on every pedal making it perfect. The insides always look like a Swiss watch, lol. It is a pedal, cork sniffers dream pedal, lol.
Oddly the guy a makes  a few gems with his classic line. They sell for around $100.00. Check out his Water Drop Chorus. It is exceptional.
The Layout is volume, tone and gain with a switch to add or take out the buffer.
CONCLUSION
Not for this guy. I am not a Klon guy. If I changed my mind I would get a Hardy Pedals Centauri using the NOS parts like the original. Best of all $150.00 USD.
NOTE: only listen to the first minute of the Hardy video as it is going thru a clean amp and you can hear the Strat chime unaltered. It does not get more transparent! Other wise if you use any pedal as just a boost 95% of the sound is the guys amps. The original Klon was designed literally with a Fender silver face Twin Reverb with the volume on 4 with the goal to get the sound of a Twin on 8. On 8 it is fuller and with bit more sustain but still very, very, very clean. However the twin puts out about 120dB getting close to a jet taking off, lol. The pedal was never designed to make you Marshal Plexi sound like a Peavey 5150 but it gets used that way??? It is supposed to sond like just at very edge of breakup. In short get a Crunch sound and turn down the gain a half notch on your rig and image that sound at any volume, even bedroom volume but sounding great.

  1. Is the Ckk Frogman tremolo, a clone of the Dazatronycs optical tremolo?
