OVERDERIVE- JHS SERIES 3 Screamer ___NEW___ modded Tube Screamer

JHS SERIES 3 SCREAMER OD
$100.00 USD
JHS started out as a company offering mods to classic pedals. They no longer offer mods. The most popular  mod packaged was for the Tube Screamer, ts9
The Series 3 is a clone with the voicing mod built in. Compared to a standard new Ibanez ts9  at ten bucks more it is very reasonably priced. The layout is the basic gain, volume and tone just like the originals but a toggle gives you the second voice.
CONCLUSION
It is only another $10 to get a real Ibanez ts9 or you can get a really convincing clone with the Caline Emerald Night for $35.
The big deal in my book is it literally turns the pedal into a Boss SD-1 pedal.
I am not a ts fan as it uses symmetrical distortion which has a synthetic vibe where as the Boss uses asymmetrical distortion which is the kind a tube amp makes. You are in effect getting 2 pedals in one.
The standard ts9 sound is perfect for tightening up a real stack or the dirt turned off and the volume boosted and used for a boost pedal SRV style but for anything else there are a variety of better options. The Boss SD-1 sounds great into a clean amp, a dirty amp or
backed off as boost but in my mind it has no down side.
