GUITAR- KRAMER PACER ___ NEW!!!___with a Floyd ___ $379.00 USD

KRAMER PACER

It is a 2010 Pacer Classic reissue. Not surprising it has basic entry level hardware and electronics. The most significant difference in this over premium stuff is not tone but durability. It will indeed all likely last several years but the good stuff depending on things like constantly moving your volume and tone controls lasts indefinitely. The Floyd is the Floyd Rose Special  which was designed by Floyd in Germany but made in Korea. The main differences is in the saddles. the German Floyd Original uses a steel alloy and the Special uses a zinc alloy. Even many of the very best guitars use zinc and have since day one on all their guitars. The tone is technically not as bright as steel but nether is it dull or muddy. The only way you could tell is by comparing 2 guitars with exactly the same 'everything.' Very, very few people can hear any difference. In short if properly set up  it performs as well as the German Floyd

The pickups are a good quality Alnico 5. Probably Korean as well. The materials used to make even a pricey PU are not very expensive. The only significant audible difference is the manufacturer of the wire. American wire is made by only 3 super high tech makers. Oddly enough they are not greedy, lol. So not using their wire will only save pennies on a PU so brand name guitars like Kramer do not literally want to get a bad name using total crap to literally only save a buck per guitar.

The body on the 2010 Pacer was maple. The new one is alder. 99% of all U.S. made Fenders use and have for decades used alder. It short most players prefer alder. The neck is Canadian Maple. My personal fave. Killer sounding. It tends to put a really, really sweet zing on your highs. Nothing better for Metal. It is also a incredibly stable. In short it resists warping.

CONCLUSION
I would likely swap out the bride PU only because I usually do
on any guitar I buy.
I very seldom ever use a neck PU on a guitar if I am
going to go for a high gain sound. I think I would take a chance
on a DiMarzio Super Distortion. It was one of several EVH's
favorites in the early days. I am not so much a fan as it
seems like both a safe bet and it is only $90.00 USD.
