This pedal was designed originally as a problem
solver to push amps into a better dirt sound.
The Booster was designed to work on it's own and creates a true double pedal. The boost was voiced to give an extra kick in the mids which make it very effective just on it's own. The drive side is a medium gain pedal.
To my ears it sounds it uses a OpAmp style design which gives you selection of 3 clipping diodes which gives you a choice between smoother or harsher clipping. It is the kind of pedal that usually stacks great on a FET Marshall pedal.
CONCLUSION
It has a voicing that has tad of nastiness in it but is semi transparent and is part of a new trend in OD's. It has a flexibility in that wherever you leave the gain it has a sweet spot.
I feel however that the Shnobel Daily Driver is the one to beat. (check out the Post) The D.D. is $280.00 USD which is a bit of an ouch.
