Black Star have been all about 'getting it right' yet keeping
their amps and pedals at budget prices. This pedal has been very popular since arriving in 2013.
The layout is your standard gain, level and tone. A knob labeled ISF is designed to sweep to change the voicing.
To the far left is meant to give it an American vibe and to the right a brit sound. Unfortunately turning it to the left does very little except to thin out the sound. It sounds usable between 10 o'clock and 2.
They should have left it off or made it sweep across it's usable range. Knobs that do nothing or are inadequate are annoying make the owner afraid to buy another pedal from that brand.
CONCLUSION
It has a Modern Metal sound nailed! Is there better? Yes ...but unless you are going to spend double the money
nothing is not noticeably or at least impressively better.
Stacked with other OD's and Fuzz pedals could push it
into some some great sounds and many guys already have
another dirt pedal.
