GUITAR- SQUIER Paranormal Toronado ...it was meant to be the Gibson by Fender SG standard ???

SQUIER PARANORMAL TORONATO
In 1998 Fender decided they were losing too much business to the Gibson SG.
They decided to design a guitar with a Gibson 24 3/4 ' neck and put in a couple of PAF style PU's. This was a radical move at the time because to loyal Fender guys it was un-Fender. From 1998 to 2003 they made it in Mexico. Then they moved it to Korea from 2004 to 2007 and even put Duncans in it. Unfortunately it did not take off.

$430.00 USD
Many think it is a Jazzmaster
but not so!
Fernandes Native Pro 1998 to 2003
I found one of these a few years back
for $280.00 USD
The Edge used one in U2
Who was looking over whose shoulder back then?

CONCLUSION
Who will buy it? Gibson guys? I don't think so. They might if it had single coils just to have
a Fender with a neck they can feel comfortable with. Fender guys wanting to check out a Gibson vibe? They won't get past the short neck and they can get a Strat with a hummy.
The population has increased by a billion since 1989. Incomes worldwide that were once far to small to create a Rock community have gone way up. The result is nearly anything can sell a few here and there to make knocking off a thousand of this or that which will sell.
I expect a year or 2 then it will discontinue and something old will be new again for another round.
One thing about the Paranormal line that I love is it is not a dumbed down and cheapened anything. You can not get a Fender USA or a MIM even. They are their own thing. In 10 years and beyond they will be cool and collectible.
What won't be cool will be Strat #10,958,563.
