As name implies the voicing for the pedal is a vintage germanium transistor that is driven into distortion by using an OpAmp. Using an OpAmp started with the ProCo Rat followed 3 months later by the Ibanez Tube Screamer. The germanium transistors give the pedal avery fat warm sound. If pushed hard it heads into Fuzz territory but you need not push it that hard for killer sounds.
The layout is very effective but unusual. Level and Drive
are self explanatory. A switch Bright adds a nice cut to the sound. Another switch changes the BIAS from a tighter OD sound to a fat classic Fuzz sound but without the 'Fuzz' if you prefer it. The scoop dips the mids.
CONCLUSION
It is very appealing sound. I would not want it to replace a modern Marshall type pedal as my main dirt pedal but as a second or third pedal it could be a great choice.
With the gain at 3/4 the pedal hides it's Fuzz like vibe and you get a unique sound that is all it's own but with lots of balz and without
sacrificing a very rich tone.
