FLAMMA FC03 DELAY
$40.00 USD |
I have their big delay Echoverb with delay and verb in one pedal. They also do a standard delay with 7 sounds etc. They now have a mini verb. To get to the point...first their build and look is excellent and the sound quality easily rivals a big bucks Strymon.Yes ...no bull ..Strymon!
If you are a hobbyist their bigger stuff is killer. You have a big toy to create endless sounds. If you are in a band and playing
conventional tunes all you use is a bit of echo here and there
to feature a solo or sweeten up a tune with a bit of ambience
or last but not least ...to fatten your sound.
The layout is perfect. All you NEED and nothing more to confuse you on a dark stage.
You have the needed knob for length of time between your echoes and one for the tempo's speed and a final knob to balance how loud the echo is.
You get 3 sounds all 100% useable. Standard digital echo. A faux analog delay sound and a tape delay sound. One dead cool feature is if you set up the pedal for 'slap back' delay. In short just a single repeat. The control is finely sensitive so you can make the pedal a 'doubler. In other words two guitars playing at once. If you use the tape echo setting doing this it acts as a really tight chorus and you have a killer fattener!!!
It is smaller than a mini pedal it can squeeze onto any pedalboard. Cheap too!!!!
CONCLUSION
Why not ??? Delay in a box is an artificial thing in so far as unlike reverb it is never trying to clone a real word sound with it's infinity's of nuances.
You are simply looking for clarity. Mud is the enemy.I have found in practice that too much girth to an echo forced you to back it off more that you would like. The Flamma has lithe to it's sound that lets you push it up in the mix without competing with the guitar for room. You can get away with a lot on a solo, lol. LOVE IT!!!
It does everything I mentioned above.
It does have one small but 'BIG' surprise It is so clean and transparent that if you did not own a Reverb pedal you would never miss it!!! If you were starting from scratch with pedals you would still want a great OD first but soon after the mini Flamma would be the 'must have'
