As a layman, I think the tech of Kemper/Tonex/etc seems to be as good as it's going to get. I personally prefer modelers like UAFX over captures because I like to see what a plexi EQ (or doesn't do) by turning knobs but can't afford a real plexi.
That being said, I'm not surprised that ToneJunkie who's business is selling Kemper captures is talking up how good this "updated" version of the Kemper is.
