WAMPLER
pedalhead power amp
NOTE:
A price nor a release date has not been announced. That said a guesstimate is less than $600.00 USD.It is small. About 4 3'/4' wide and 3 3/4' deep. The size of the MXR 10 Band EQ or a King of Tone.
Brian Wampler has a cover band & I know he has been using a Friedman IR-D.
He loves it. I expect it is why he was inspired to make this amp pedal.
I have the Friedman IR-X and am using a borrowed amp because other
pedalboard amps are total crap so I have been waiting for something like this.
___
The unit sweeps your speaker cabs using 'machine learning' to match with the amp. It can choose from 3 amp type categories so for example it can tell if it needs to respond like a Peavey 5150 a Marshall or a Fender.
You then can plug in a Tube Pre or even an Amp-in-a-Box pedal of any make & get a very convincing real Tube Amp creating sag, phase inverter and transformer coloration.
This lets you hear and feel the response just like as if
it were a Tube Power amp experience with both the
sound and the feel.
You can then send out the same sound to the house system
sound reinforcement or DAW. You can run it without any cabs.
into the wall so you do not need a flimsy adapter.
CONCLUSION __This literally could be a game changer. Other pedalboard
amps are just consumer stereo amps made to play your CD's etc. on. I am sure I will buy this wampler. At worse it will be compact so I can give my borrowed rack mount back. LOL. That said the fact that Brian Wampler uses virtually the same Friedman Pre as I do makes
me very hopeful.
At minimum what I heard on the videos is 10 times myexpectations and I NEED a damn amp.😇
