Art have made and still offer several variations of this unit for 30 years. It quite simply stamps a real Tube sound onto anything going through it. This is a time when your digital Modeler is made more sterile 

because even the amps on stage are amplified by 

digital Type C power amps. According to earthlings 

it means your live sound comes out sounding sterile  

without the seriously better sounds real tubes add.

CONCLUSION ___ 

First the Project Boxes are built in plastic casings. I have 3 of these made in 

China boxes. Each does a different thing. Two I have had for about 5 years 

and another 2 years. Zero problems. They are bult like a mini tank. The jacks 

fit snug and the guts are noise free. It is a no-brainer especially for the price.
